I can still clearly remember how I felt going on my first-ever day at work. I remember how excited I was to finally step into the corporate world, eager to try my best to contribute. I guess this is the beauty of finding passion in your first job — enjoying the ups and learning from the downs is a great experience that gives my heart warmth.

CME has been a BIG part of my life and my professional growth. I owe what  I know now about events management, leadership, along with many partnerships and friends in the industry, to CME and my mentor, Chiara.

The company gave me opportunities to grow by allowing me to lead and participate in different capacities — from leading small booth set-ups to having my own accounts to manage, and to handling big, multinational events. I am fortunate to have been given chances as a fresh graduate to take multiple roles in Accounts and Logistics to eventually progress and be Operations Director and contribute meaningfully to the organization and influence change.

I was part of CME for almost nine years, and looking back, I have nothing but a grateful heart and wonderful memories to cherish. CME is still and forever will be family to me.

To the captain of our ship, Chairs, all these successes across all these years would not have been possible if we didn't have someone like you leading us at the front. We have sailed many stormy seas and conquered many challenges together. We learned from opportunities and always strived to be better, and had our momentous successes.

As I write about my experience, I couldn’t help but feel emotional as I recall the memories — happy times, challenges, and tons of learning, whether in work and life.

I practically grew with the company as I spent almost ten years of my work life in CME. A small events team caters to Pharma companies to a multi-media events company that caters to practically any company across all industries.

It was my CME experience that shaped me into the person I am now. Career-wise, my boss would always tell me that I always face challenges head-on. I am very resourceful, and I rarely say no to any hurdle that needs to be met. CME taught me that. When the client says they want this thing done, we have to think quickly about how we should execute it without compromising the quality of work and budget. In CME, I learned to deal with people from all walks of life because partnerships empower CME. We celebrate equality. We’re not your slave; we are partners. Whether you’re a high-ranking individual or runner, we treat you as a partner.

In CME, I’ve experience staging world-class events such as APEC Launch and ASEAN Summits (both with DTI) and the most memorable D Launch! Most Pharma events also taught me about drugs! (The good ones!) If no for CME, I wouldn’t be an advocate of vaccines. I am proud that I have my Dengvaxia shot and still alive and kicking.’ Vaccines/Medicines were created with tedious clinical trials. Hence, it does more good than harm the person given the vaccine/medicine.

In life, CME Peeps will always be a family to me. I may no longer see them daily, but they hold a special place in my heart. The type of family who cares and understands you. Who would take turns babysit your child while you work (and attend client calls!)

I will forever miss our game nights, CME Cup, CME Mornings, and most especially, our company outings. We get to chill. We get to have fun! The company “splurge” for their people in celebration of CME’s anniversary month.

To CME, my home, my family, here’s wishing you more projects, and may you stay in the industry for longer for your clients you cater to and for all the people you give the opportunity to work with, especially in these trying times.

Lahat ng events may memories. Each event has a story to tell. Madami ring hotel rooms na hindi natulugan pero pag nakita mo yung output ng event okay lang ang walang tulugan.

CME Partner improved my confidence, developed my skills by giving me the opportunity to work with several people such as suppliers, hotel, banquet coordinators, clients, production staff, and many more. I’m more comfortable in finding out how to do my tasks by myself.

CME Partner taught me how to budget. Kasi in real-life hindi ako nagbu-budget but CME taught me that, especially to haggle.

CME Partner demonstrates teamwork, sa lahat ng projects that I’m with, tulungan talaga kaya mas marami akong natutunan sa mga naging katrabaho ko.

Working in events is a job that I enjoy, love, and miss. I’m happy and proud to be part of the CME team.

I was the first in-house graphic designer for the events team when I joined back in 2010. I never had much experience that time, having only a few school posters and some freelance work in my portfolio, but Chiars saw my potential and took a chance on me. It was a struggle keeping up at first, but with the team’s support and feedback, I quickly got the way of working and the quality of output expected.

I have always worked on the sidelines — quietly supporting requirements for our key accounts and creating concepts for each project. CME acknowledged the things that I could put on the table and allowed me to manage my own team as the company’s art director. From then on, there was never a dull moment while working with the team — from getting exciting news of an approved out-of-town event, eating and having conversations with friends and clients, relaxing after a smooth show, and celebrating our wins after a long tiring week. Though it sounds fun and light, conquering all these isn’t always easy. I have felt frustrations trying to revise a concept and submitting them on time, embarrassment on some screw up during live events, and powering through sleepless nights in the office to pull off a project. But all these challenges became manageable because of the group’s sense of teamwork and dedication. Would I want to do it again? Yes, but not because I like the lack of sleep and shower, but because it was a workplace where I felt valued for sharing my ideas and encouraged to make it even better.

Thank you for considering me as someone who has played a significant role in the company’s history. I can also say that the company has been instrumental to my career (and love life, but that’s another story). It has equipped me with a work ethic to thrive even after I left the company and even in a different field. Thank you for the lessons and memories, and most of all, thank you for considering me as a friend.

A bare and make-up-less face, faded black jeans, and worn-out flimsy blazers — that’s how I pictured myself when I was starting with CME Partner a couple of years ago. I had so little experience back then with just a couple of years in the media industry. Still, luckily the company took a chance on me to lead and manage big projects, which, up to this day, plays a big part in how I am as a marketing professional. Who would’ve known that this humble yet feisty events team would set me up gracefully to face a bigger challenging corporate world?

I would say that the team kept me company during my “coming of age” years — both professionally and on a personal level. Without its strong principles and values, I wouldn’t have that solid professional foundation that played a big role in me getting further to the career path that I have always worked hard for. One of the key things that I enjoyed learning in CME is its gold standard in client-facing and events management. Project after project, coffee runs, panic moments, and fun sleepless O.T. nights — I felt that I was trained with such discipline to be graceful in times of pressure and just focusing on delivering the best quality of service to our partners back then. Up till now, I believe that I still carry that practice which makes me forever grateful that I was once part of this team.

My journey with CME was short and brief. It started in 2013 for nine months. Led by ambitious and passionate women, I nurtured my skills in Marketing events and client servicing. It was a little challenging to be involved and cater to International brands and clients as an account executive at the beginning. I was a baby mentored by a passionate senior (Kayelyn) who helped me every step of the way to win. I managed to get a lot of exposure to pitch ideas to help brands achieve their purpose and vision. And that benefited me a lot personally in aligning the career goals that I pursued overseas. The team was built with a solid passion for what they do. They are so dedicated to each project they deliver for their partners and suppliers. They take care of people like a family. They support and build each other up to be better. Although my time was short, I'm grateful for the experience I've earned. And even after leaving, we stayed in touch. Seeing their achievements and growth all these years makes me proud. Once a CME baby will always be a CME baby and will always be one of Chiara's Angels we call. 😂 In this another year and another milestone, I can't express enough my admiration to the team for remaining resilient and agile in this time of the pandemic. Their optimism towards holding each other and being the agency their brand partners can rely on is exemplary. CME treats their partners as family, and family will stand together always amidst any storm.

I have been privileged to have known some of you from my GSK life as a work colleague. From Mead Johnson as a potential partner, then in my time with Ciriaco Consulting as one of the consultants, then again as one of your team in one of the biggest events for 2017- ASEAN DTI Congresses, and finally as your training consultant for Gallup Strengthsfinder!  

Wow!  I just realized that’s a lot, and you have all accomplished so much in so short a time. Always a joy to be working with such vibrant, young, and artistic people!

What I like most about working with you guys because you are always pushing the envelope in terms of delivering what your clients want!  I clearly remember running a team-building program for one company with 800 employees in Bohol and only a few consultants. Still, we pulled it off even when sometimes I felt like “humihiwalay na yung katawang lupa ko sa isip ko!” because of the number of times we had to repeat the activities in our station!

For the ASEAN congress, I admired how Kat B would always suddenly come out with new people overnight to help pitch in with needed work.  I even asked her, “How do you get them so fast?” And she said, “Nanganganak ako overnight!”  parang gremlins lang.  It was hard work, and it paid off!

I even had the chance to see the transfer from the old office to the newer, bigger, and millennial-approved one with its open space and murals.  If I had the choice of an office, I would choose that over any I have had so far, even the one I am using now!  Even in constructing your workspace, there was much thought that went into it.  I love the tiger painting in the lobby and the message it brings forth.  Even the change in logo design has a certain flair to it!  It tells me that the leaders are fierce yet feminine.

The three formidable and “fierce” ladies heading CME Partner - Chiara, Kaye, and Kat (although she has since moved on to her next big adventure) you have really carved a niche in below-the-line activities.  It would be exciting to see what you will come up with next!

I worked with other events management companies prior to working with CME. However, the relationships did not prosper. To put simply, our priorities and work ethics did not jive especially when it came to keeping appointments and respecting other people’s time. One loved calling for meeting instantly and expected me to drop everything to meet with them. I felt like I was enslaved by them. The head of another company was shameless showing up 2 hours late, and expected me to waste my time waiting. I also did not want to be part of their corrupt practices. No way!

Developing a harmonious working relationship with CME was smooth and spontaneous. It helped that I was already doing work for them upon their foundation, and through their formative years. I saw this as an opportunity to share with them my values and work ethics, which they welcomed and imbibed.

The relationship grew deeper and stronger as we learned more about each other. They knew that my tantrums were for the good of a project, and didn’t take my screaming and swearing personally. Our relationship deepened and became personal, eventually becoming friends not only with their staff, but with their families.

I am comfortable and at ease around them. I feel valued, respected, and appreciated. They welcomed spontaneous teaching moments as well as formal discussions and workshops. The teacher and mentor in me, they gladly accepted.

I am proud to say that I have been part of their history, and continue to do so. I regard their milestones and accomplishments as my own because they entrusted me with most of their landmark projects.

Professional, hardworking, and easy to work with are just some of the words that come out of me when describing CME Partner. Working with them for several years, I’ve experienced many memorable and challenging projects with them. With God’s will, everything went well because of the support of the whole team.

I have had the pleasure of working with CME Partner for almost ten years now. I have witnessed it handle a myriad of clients, accounts, and projects with expertise, dedication, and passion. And through the years, I have seen it grow bigger and stronger – even during difficult times such as the last couple of years.

But what is more admirable about CME Partner is the kind of relationship it builds - not only with its clients - but also with its talents and suppliers, such as myself. It’s not just working; it’s personal. It’s not just friendship; it’s a family.

My CME Journey started back in 2008. It was an event in Clark, Pampanga and I was a Production Assistant. It was a memorable experience since it was an out-of-town trip which, of course, meant overnight accommodations in a hotel as well as other perks. Back then, I did not know that the person I was assisting was one of the company’s big bosses. You can’t blame me since the job was to mass-produce the script for the particular event. After that, there were back-to-back events offered by the company. From a Production Assistant, I now was the Floor Director / Stage Manager. We were all over the Philippines organizing different events for various companies. After work, if time permits, we will make a side trip to a popular area in the location we were at. One of the most memorable was our bonding in Caramaoan. I got to do rappelling, which was my first (and last) time. I also remember our crazy shots on the famous San Juanico bridge that we got to do after work. Oh, and our Dos Palmas trip where we rode a bicycle on the beach, can you imagine?

In 2018, I was given another opportunity to work for the company full-time as an Account Executive. It was a new experience for me as this was the first time I got to be employed full time with a 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM job. I was able to handle several accounts and experienced different personalities being the one facing the client. I got to experience the essence of having "officemates" (up to now, I find it so cool mentioning the word), the training, the system, which I have never done before. You see, being the Floor Director / Stage Manager starts and ends on the day of the event. Well, as an Account Executive, you oversee the event from start to finish of the production. It was stressful but at the same time fun getting to be with a bunch who welcomed you in open arms. Eventually, being a grown-up, you get to decide on your own on what you really want to be in life. And so, I got back to my passion, which was Floor Directing and Stage Managing for them as a freelancer, and the decision was welcomed with so much understanding. But of course, more than the privilege to work for CME still in that role, another opportunity opened when they hired me as a Production Manager for a big event. It was also something I do freelance, but this is probably one of the biggest events I have handled. Thank God everything went well, and of course, there was always the bonding you look forward to after the event.

For the past 12 / 13 years, I have had countless events and experiences with CME. I have witnessed people come and go and come back again. I guess I can say that I have seen how the company grew. Moreover, I have shared not only work-related experiences, but it came to a point where you get to be more personal with the people you work with, which I like about the company. I get to be me, with no judgment, and at the same time, I get to learn. With CME, I felt a sense of belongingness, respect, and most especially acceptance. I will be forever grateful for the opportunities CME has given me and I am looking forward to more years of friendship and partnership. Thank you, CME.

Working with CME Partner is everything like a freelance host would experience and many things “corporate life.” In the past years, I've worked with them, pre-pandemic. Through this almost 2-year crisis, I will always be grateful for the utmost care they provide us talents and the essential standards and professionalism that we together provide our clients.

I was asked to write something memorable in my years of working with them, but I just couldn't point my brain to any. Then I realized there wasn't one memorable experience. What stuck to me was  my relationship with them. It was the warm smiles they always wear, even in the earliest of call times. I've been working with CME Partner for almost a decade now, and the one thing that gravitates me to their work is consistency in their craftsmanship. They even coordinate with the event organizers on my behalf. Kaye and Aleen are working on my projects, and they always make sure that they observe the deadline set and their work is always marked with excellence. Our partnership with CME is built on a solid consultant-client relationship that enabled us to work as One Team, sharing and working towards a common goal— a successful Philippine hosting of 2 premier regional conferences of the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) from 2019-2021. We successfully hosted the 2019 CEO Conference in Shangri-la Mactan Cebu for over 250 delegates from the region. Currently, we are venturing into the first-ever virtual Conference of the Electricity Power Supply Industry  (CEPSI) in  2021: The Energy Digicon of Asia-Pacific in November.

Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) is the agency being bestowed by to promote the market expansion of Malaysian palm oil and its products by enhancing the image of palm oil and creating better acceptance of palm oil through awareness of various technological and economic advantages (techno-economic advantages) and environmental sustainability worldwide.

The promotion activities will not be successful without a reliable and good local partner in the particular country. We are very fortunate to have worked with CME in the Philippines since 2015. CME’s excellent working culture and proactive approach have to assist MPOC in successfully conducted all the major events in the Philippines. Events such as Palm Oil Trade Fair and Seminar (POTS) the Philippines, which is a major event for MPOC requires a total commitment by the organizer because it involves numbers of activities such as conference, exhibition, evening forum, business matching and the present of Ministers and State Secretary from both Malaysia and the Philippines as well as the captains of the industry. With the support and commitment from CME, POTS Philippines will be a success.

MPOC has identified the Philippines as one of the important markets for Malaysian palm oil. A list of activities has been planned and is scheduled to be implemented this year. The activities involve Ministerial visits, conferences, consumer programs, and other media activities. To execute this series of activities, we need a reliable and competent event management company in the Philippines, and CME is at the top of our list.
